Frog Eye Jug Band and Honky Suckle become one… called Honky Suckle

by

In the world of music and bands, band changes are nothing new. Bands add members, subtract members, change members, change names and just generally break up. It’s pretty much all been done. So it’s with a certain bit of thanks to the bands involved for the slight curveball that we bring this news: Frog Eye Jug Band and Honky Suckle have combined bands and consolidated members… all while continuing to call the new group Honky Suckle. Didn’t they just form a new band, basically? Was the name Honky Eye Suckle Band taken? (We checked. The answer is no.) Anyway, the new Honky Suckle lineup now includes Davey Smith, Eric Howell, Dave Harp, RJ Florez and Kyle Young. The flip side of the announcement, of course, is that there no longer is a Frog Eye Jug Band, but here’s to hoping Honky Suckle 2.0 is even stronger than the two bands it sort of replaces.

Hey, I really appreciate the news letter. The lineup is wrong though. Honky Suckle is Kyle Young (Harps, Clackadoo) Eric Howell (Guitjo, Dobro, 12 string Guitar) Brad Barnes (Rhythm Guitar) RJ Florez (Lead Guitar) Dave Smith (Upright Bass) Sam McKinstry (Banjo, Spoons, Washboard Tie, Trombone) & Adam Howell ( Drums, Mandolin). Honky Suckle took on RJ & Sam from the Frog Eye Jug Band. We’ve now become a monster. We’ve got a whole lot of energy to our live show’s. We play a wide variety of style’s. Bluegrass/Blues/Punk. We just love good music and having a hell of a good time playing it. We’re having a CD release party on December 11th. Please everyone come out and check us out any chance you get. You wont regret it. We’re going to work out a deal to where you cover charge get’s you in the door and get’s you a CD. So check out our Myspace page for further details. It’s early in the planing right now. Thanks again.
