Word came down today from local metal group All Kills Aside, which released a lengthy statement today outlining its apparent departure from the music scene. It’s a bit of a surprise, but the reasons the band gives are sound. Details after the break.
It appears the group’s drummer and bass player have each decided to move on, and for different reasons. According to the band’s statement, drummer Reed Arnold is leaving for marriage and an opportunity to attend school in California. Meanwhile, bassist Shannon Low has, according to the statement, “taken a new commitment to God and Christ toward a completely new ‘calling.'” Low is also engaged to be married in a few weeks, and one could safely assume that fact also worked into Low’s decision.
The band, at least under that name, appears to be done, but there are rays of hope that we’ll see remaining AKA members onstage in some form in the near future. When that happens, we’ll let you know.
