Lindberg’s unleashes the ’90s bands for old-school night tomorrow

The 1990s were a decade that Lindberg’s didn’t really get to take part in. The Commercial-Street bar and rock club closed just as the decade began, depriving residents of the opportunity to pound brews in front of the giant mirrored bar back while the local scene’s slew of favorites from the era put pick to string. Tomorrow night, finally, two worlds will collide. We’ll tell you more after the break.

Future Lovers, a well-known punk act from Lafayette, Indiana, is coming into Springfield to take the Lindberg’s stage tomorrow night, and to mark the occasion the club is pulling out all the stops for fellow performers: punk rockers Fugue and metal act The Motley Dudes, neither of which has graced a Springfield stage in we-have-no-idea-how-long. We’re noticing a definite upward trend in the number of ’90s acts from the Springfield scene, especially with Fern getting back together, and here’s hoping success at this show opens that door even more–especially if it’s Lindbergs’ door. When it comes to things that happened in the ’90s, it has a lot of catching up to do.
