***UPDATED*** The Show Report, 5/15: Know that we have always been down, down

311If watching GWAR ravage Remmingtons Downtown wasn’t enough of a blast from the past for local showgoers, tonight’s follow-up raises the bar another notch. 311 takes over The Shrine Mosque with opening act Full Service starting at 8 p.m. We’re prepared to party like it’s 1995 all over again. (Or choose your year of preference from the mid-’90s/late ’90s/early ’00s to party like.) With an early start time, you can hit this show as the starting point to your night, too, which leaves time to get to tonight’s other events:

* Framing Hanley, Atom Smash and As Of Now at the Clarion Hotel (3333 S. Glenstone)

* The Dirty Blondes, Sweetwater Abilene, The First Teenager Ever and Ghost Dance at The Outland Ballroom. After all the Dirty Blondes breakup hoopla this week (see this week’s FourFour Show for more), this is a can’t-miss show. Who knows how many more chances we’ll get to see this Springfield institution in action? Also, see Sweetwater frontman J.R. Top sans beard or head hair!

* Black Box Revue with special guest Vega at The Outland. Vega was another of the many impressive acts Black Box brought to Lose Control at SXSW; now they’re in Springfield to rock you.

* The Cropdusters,Vintage Lace, Bob and the Bobcats, Organic Soul and Good Times play at the Greene County Relay for Life at Hillcrest High School.

* The Ben Miller Band and Sexfist at Patton Alley Pub

* Cover Girlz at The High Life Live Martini Lounge

* Kult of Thorn, Haven’t I Stabbed You Before and Night Creation at Nathan P. Murphy’s

* Brother Wiley and Eric Nassau at Lindberg’s

* The Dropouts at Roadhouse Saloon

* Pat Pending at Archie’s

* Harder To Fall and Natalie Hoffman at The Front Porch
