Music is art, but playing an instrument–including one’s voice–is a craft, and few places in Springfield stand out for their attention to the craft of playing music as much as Pellegrino’s School of Music. Though much of what goes on at the school happens in a teacher-and-student environment, this weekend the lessons move out of the classroom, if you will, and onto the stage. Where’s Jack Black when you need him?! We’ll tell you more after the break.
Saturday evening the school will host a student rock band recital show at Nathan P. Murphy’s starting at 5 p.m. Six rock bands made up of Pellegrino’s students will take part in the show, which is open to the public (i.e. not just to students’ families) and costs $8 to attend. The student show will be followed by another concert, this one by comedian Jake Baker, at 9:30 p.m.
