It’s time for Holstein to emerge again. After releasing an emotionally wrenching yet superb EP last year and playing a gaggle of shows including FourFourFest in November, the band went underground to record a new album and load up for the next step. We got word last night on what all that involves, and, naturally, we divulge after some light clicking on the colored words below.
The band’s follow-up to The Big Black Clouds EP will be titled Blood on James River and will be released June 27. Two songs from the EP–“Big Black Clouds” and “Complications”–have been reworked and recorded for Blood, along with 11 new tracks to make a full 13-song LP. The album will have a CD release party at Lindberg’s that same night with Truett and the Traitors as an opening act.
The band has also booked three Springfield shows between now and then–all in April, at least right now–so there are opportunities to catch the group in action now that the album is in its final stages. They are as follows:
4.11.09 The Outland w/ Cooter Brown, Ember
4.23.09 Lindberg?s w/ Pilot Whale, TBA
4.25.09 Mixology w/ TBA
