A local SXSW party of a different kind

losecontrol_09So you think South By Southwest is about an endless series of indie bands, beer gardens and music bloggers? Nope. Springfield is bringing the dance party. Read after the break.

Black Box Revue is taking its weekly Friday-night dance-party-meets-live-band extravaganza on the road to Austin to hold down Canvas Bar & Gallery (105 E. 5th Suite 113, Austin) March 19–21. Among the acts jumping on board to help turn up the heat on Springfield’s traveling dance-a-thon are The Twelves, Miami Horror, Treasure Fingers, Evil Nine, LA Riots, Don Rimini, Villains, Le Castle Vania, The Whip, Futurecop, AC Slater, Toxic Avenger, Franki Chan and Classixx. (Click here for a complete night-by-night list.)

For those of you making the trip for SXSW–we suggest it, as Springfield is well represented there–save some drink money and a whole lot of energy for your Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

We are very proud that Black Box’s own, We are like the Spider, and Nightsweats are going to get the chance to play along side some heavy hitters! Thanks for all the support!
