Memories… of the way we were…

Note: That is the last time you will read a Barbara Streisand reference on this site. Ever. It’s appropriate here, though, as the Riverfront Times today published an article looking back on the often-forgotten (or, perhaps for some, just blocked out) hardcore punk scene alive in the Ozarks in the early and mid-’90s. For those of us going to shows at the time, it’s a fascinating trip down memory lane. For anyone who got into local showgoing later, it’s a demonstration of how much the music scene has softened and become more accessible. Either way, it’s worth a post here, in our opinion. Thanks to the open-eyed gang at MoRawk for pointing it out.

“I tell Patrick all the time, Daddy’s band sucks. No one likes Daddy’s band.” good article, but i kinda hate the suggestion that como and lawerence AREN’T backwoods. seriously. the great thing about america is that rednecks are everywhere (that’s right chicago, NY and LA!), the accents are just different.
