If you missed the September 26 Juke Joint Duo show at Nathan P. Murphy’s, you missed musicians of incredible ability and pedigree gracing the stage. Juke Joint Duo’s drummer, Cedric Burnside, is the grandson of blues great R.L. Burnside, and played in R.L.’s band later in his grandfather’s life. The other half of the band, Lightnin’ Malcolm, plays a blazing guitar. The duo brought the house down at Muprhy’s four months ago, and they’re back to do it again on Tuesday, January 13. Juke Joint All-Stars opens the night at Murphy’s, which opens its doors at 6 p.m. Come hungry, because Murphy’s will be serving grilled meats in a variety of forms: chicken, bratwurst and hot links. Then you get to chow on hot, electric blues. Bon appetit.
