Shout-out to Jeff Houghton, who always holds it down for local musicians while killing with comedy. Shout-outs, DeRosh? What is this, Arsenio Hall? I promise not to pump my fist and make woofing noises. Honest. This is, however, about a talk show: The Mystery Hour, Houghton’s comedic, and often self-mocking, take on the kind of show that made Carson, Leno, Letterman and Conan famous. This week’s interview guests are Springfield City Manager Greg Burris and Pam Herd, who brings animals from the Dickerson Park Zoo… and we all know what happens when animals come on talk shows.
What does this have to do with music, DeRosh? Forgotten the purpose of this site already? What, you gonna join another softball team or something, too? I’d have to get back in playing shape first… so not the point. See, every episode of The Mystery Hour (held monthly now) has a musical guest–this month it’s The Spacetones.
