There are so many intriguing options for your live music entertainment tonight, you can go in almost any direction and end up with a night you won’t regret. Think of it this way:
You park your car downtown, lock it and start walking toward the earliest show of the night, the Family Readiness Group benefit show at Nathan P. Murphy’s. You pay your $5 cover charge (or $9 if you’re under 21) and head in to see the night’s first act, the Bobby Gardner Band, a rockin’ show that starts around 8:30. Once it’s over, do you:
A. Stay at Murphy’s for the second band, the excellent alt-country group Bottlefish, and headliner Honest Heathen
B. Wander over to the Outland, because you want to get situated for Grace Classical Academy before the J.R.-A-Thon begins: Pilot Whale performs his electro-dance tunes with a full backing band–which is just the warmup for the awesome rock of Sweetwater Abilene.
C. Pop into the High Life Live Martini Lounge to see the Ben Miller Band play there for the first time ever
D. Drop in Patton Alley Pub to hear the awesome jams of St. Louis group Madahoochi
E. Hit up the dance clubs, because, like, your milkshake brings all the boys (or girls) to the yard
We won’t test your patience by continuing the premise; you have places to be, after all. No need to turn to any pages for your next step. For those who choose answer E, though, your adventure ends here. I mean, we could teach you, but we’d have to charge.
