For some followers of local music, the Ozark Mountain Daredevils are something of an intangible. They’re heard on classic-rock radio (we heard “Jackie Blue” just this morning, in fact), they’re alive in photographs and, to a fortunate few, they’re visible onstage for oh-so-rare shows such as the “revival” concerts at the Gillioz Theatre in 2007. Tomorrow night will bring you face-to-face with one of the Daredevils, Michael “Supe” Granda, to be exact.
Granda recently completed a book chronicling his experience in the Daredevils, an insider’s look at the band’s rise and fall, titled It Shined: The saga of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils. Both book and author will be on hand at the Park Central Branch library tomorrow night (12/30) at 6 p.m. Not only can you purchase a copy of the book, Granda will be on hand for a book signing–and a live musical performance. It’s the next best thing to a Daredevils concert–and it’s free. You know, unless you buy the book, which is $27 for softcover copies and $30 for hardcover. Bring your wallet.

was 12/20 a typo or are you providing a time machine for us? I’m really hoping you have a time machine. I’d kind like to borrow it next weekend.
